ASHRAE Region XII CRC

Greetings Chapter Officers and Chairs!

Ashrae-CRC-1I wanted to take a moment to update you on CRC 2013.  Unfortunately will not be able to have it in Puerto Rico this year; it is disappointing, but we have found a beachfront location in Sarasota, Florida – home of our Sarasota/Bradenton Section.  The location is the Holiday Inn Lido Beach.  Room rates are reasonable and more information is to follow.  It is within walking distance of a beautiful shopping district called St. Armand’s Circle with great gulf front views to the west and City/Intercoastal views to the east.

The dates will remain the same; however there are some slight modifications in schedule.  We will start with the Business Session first thing in the morning on Thursday Aug. 1, 2013 and continue with events throughout with workshops and final awards luncheon on Saturday Aug. 3, 2013.  There are many things to do in Sarasota so I encourage you to spend some extra time to take in the Arts District, Museums and of course some of the most beautiful shores in Florida (check out Sanibel Island, Siesta Key and Captiva Island).  We will have some social events such as golf or maybe a fishing trip set tentatively for Wednesday and of course the ever famous Florida West Coast Chapter Hospitality Suite will be open Wednesday, July 31, 2013 for the early arrivers.  I also want to thank the volunteers from the Southwest Florida Chapter that have also stepped up.  We have a truly great Region that is so supportive.

Throughout the next few weeks, a webpage will be set up with registration details, schedule of events and important links to plan your travels.  Of course we will be recruiting sponsors throughout the region.  For those interested in sponsorship, please contact me (Jennifer Isenbeck at jisenbeck@ut.edu).

For Chapter Presidents and President Elects – Please note nominating committee should be in place and currently meeting (see Manual for Chapter Operations).  Start thinking about your 2013-2014 CIQ (Chapter Information Questionnaire), this will assist you in determining the attendance at CRC in August.  Chapter representation of incoming committee chairs at CRC (and centralized training where applicable) is not only essential to your chapter, but the region gains so much from the exchange of information and ideas.

As a final note, there will be a Regional CRC Planning Meeting on Friday May 3, 2013at the Citrus Club in Orlando.  An Outlook invite will be sent with more detailed information.  For Florida Chapters, it is requested that all President Elects attend.
